The Weaponization of Knowledge Conference

After some days in Vienna, I went to Tübingen for participating in the Weaponization of Knowledge Conference. This event was organized by the University of Tübingen and the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill to bring together scholars interested in the negative consequences associated with the (mis)use of knowledge. Participants came from a wide range of disciplines (e.g., sociology, history,  information studies, media studies, communication, law, gender studies, computer science) and presented diverse research approaches to characterize this important phenomenon.

I was invited by Francesca Tripodi (University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill), active member of the Wikimedia Research community and PC Chair of Wiki Workshop 2023, to present the ongoing work on Controversies over Historical Revisionism in Wikipedia conducted with Taehee Kim and David García. The confernce was a great opportunity to connect with scientists with common interests and to raise awareness of the possibilities of the Wikimedia ecosystem for research of this kind.
