Last week I went to Madrid for III Jornadas de Cultura Libre (3rd edition of the Free Culture Days). This event organized by the Free Knowledge and Culture Office at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos as a meeting point to exchange experiences on issues related to free culture: open publishing (teaching materials, research, etc.), open science, open data, free software, etc. I was invited by the organizers for a talk on Wikimedia Research in the era of Artificial Intelligence. My contribution was part of session with two other talks on:
- Free Podcasts and Artificial Intelligence by José Antonio Gelado
- Open Generative Artificial Intelligence by Pedro Cuenca (HuggingFace)
Talks were followed by a panel with three of us together with Jesús M. González Barahona, as moderator, to jointly discuss the societal impact of AI in the free knowledge ecosystem.
