In 2017 I have served as a research collaborator of Participa Lab, the Collective Intelligence for Participatory Democracy Lab at Medialab Prado. In particular, I have been in charge of the data research line, which was born to provide the other research lines of Participa Lab with data analysis capabilities and to develop tools to understand and improve citizen participatory processes. This has been part of the active collaboration with Participa Lab in recent years, e.g.:
- The research work at the BetaDemIC group (2015)
- The co-organization of the ONODO hackaton at Ciudades Democráticas (2016)
- The mentorship at Inteligencia Colectiva por la Democracia hackaton (2016)
Results in 2017 have focused on the development of prototypes and the extension of existing tools to analyze and visualize data from Decide Madrid, e.g.:
- A set of interactive dashboards of open data sets
- A new version of Wikum compatible with Decide Madrid
- A new version of the visualization tool of discussions threads which obtains the data from the API
- A prototype to easily explore topics and proposals
This last prototype summarizes the essence of the project and was chosen to be presented at Un año en un día, the annual event of Medialab Prado to disseminate main results of ongoing projects.
