Yesterday I attended the 1st BGSMath Data Science Workshop at the Institut d’Estudis Catalans. This workshop was conceived to bring together researchers and local organizations working in Data Science to discuss ongoing research and strengthen the links of a growing network. The program included different talks given by researchers from Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UFP), as well as data scientists from industrial entities like Vodafone, Kernel Analytics or Eurecat.
In the poster session I disseminated, with my PhD co-advisor Vicenç Gómez, the main results of our recent work “Measuring Platform Effects on Online Democracy“, supported by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness under the María de Maeztu Units of Excellence Programme (MDM-2015-0502).
